Nearly 20 years ago, I made my first foray into digital media when I left The Detroit News after 13 years in various editing positions. I haven’t looked back, and have instead looked for opportunities to use my skills as a journalist in the digital space. My journey has taken me through two startup opportunities — one privately owned niche site, another AOL-owned Patch — as well as a stint as an educator, a two-year experience with a nonprofit and the chance to lead digital teams at three publications.
What’s next? I have no idea. But whatever it is, I have a feeling I’ll continue to learn and grow. Because when you feel passionate about what you do, what else is there?
